RIVER

The river crossing Goudi is the Chrysochous River which springs from the mountains of “Stavros tis Psokas”. The river is approximately 20 km long (from “Stavros tis Psokas”) and its flow is constant even in the summer.

Particularly interesting is the river course which crosses the village splitting it in two. These two parts are connected by a beautiful bridge.

The river’s wild vegetation and its rich fauna allure every visitor. Among the images encountered by the visitors of the river are the ducks swimming in its waters and the barn owls enjoying the peace and quiet of the scenery. In other words, people visiting the river will have the opportunity to admire a rich habitat. After all, it is for this reason that teachers and students come to the river to study the wild vegetation.

Finally, it is worth knowing that the only river overflow occurred in 1962 and that caused several damages to the houses of the village.
